Is electric water heater safe?
1. Unplugging does not mean safety
As electric water heaters have frequent electric shocks, consumers are naturally worried about the use of electric water heaters, so some smart consumers unplug the plug after the water heater heating is completed, and some manufacturers lack confidence in their own product safety. Consumers are encouraged to do so during the sales process.
However, in addition to connecting the electrical circuit, the water heater is inevitably connected to the water pipe. In some buildings that are badly grounded or not grounded at all, some people will connect the grounding line to the water pipe so that the water pipe acts as a grounding for the building. In this case, if there is a leakage of electricity in one household's home, the entire building's water pipe will be energized, and users who are using a water heater to bathe, even if they unplug the water heater, will still be injured by the current introduced by the water pipe.
2, there is a leakage protector also don't careFirst understand the working principle of the leakage protector: The live line and neutral line in the power line enter the water heater through the leakage protector. In the working state of the water heater, once a certain internal electrical device leaks, the leakage protector can be in 0.1 seconds. Cut off the power supply to prevent the current from continuing to enter the interior of the water heater.
However, the water heater's power cord also contains a ground wire that does not pass through the earth leakage protector. In theory, the ground wire is also set to ensure the safety of the power supply. However, if the grounding is not reliable, the FireWire ground wire will be reversed during the decoration. Aging and other conditions occur, because the ground does not pass the leakage protector, then the current may be driven directly into the water heater through the long drive, the electric shock accident is still inevitable.
3, must be properly groundedDue to historical reasons, many building grounding systems are not good or even lacking. For example, improperly fitting the wrong lines, aging the lines, drawing wires, using poor quality switch sockets, using water pipes as grounding wires, and so on, all of which may lead to ground lines. Charged, causing an electric shock. For this, consumers do not know. In this environment of use, even a water heater that passes the IEC inspection cannot guarantee safe bathing.
Second, electric water heater precautions
1, leakproof water
Electric water heater installation location must have sufficient displacement and unimpeded floor drain, so that when the water pressure in the water pipeline exceeds the standard, the safety valve discharges water can smoothly flow into the sewage pipeline, to avoid causing your losses!
2, leakage protection
The focus of electric water heater safety hazards is bound to be related to electricity, leakage prevention work should be from the following three hands.
1) The power supply must have a reliable ground and use a separate line. It is strictly forbidden to connect the original power line privately.
2) The PPR insulation pipe must be used for waterway installation. This can effectively reduce the risk of electric shock.
3) Sockets are relatively more stressful, and four must be remembered.
1 Must use independent, splash-proof sockets that conform to national standards.
2 Must be installed where the shower water cannot splash.
3 The power outlet must have a reliable ground.
4 Must use the correct, high-quality, regular brand power outlets with capacity parameters to ensure a reliable connection between the outlet and the plug.
5 Do not use mobile sockets.
6 Do not use a power outlet with a switch. Do not use a two-phase jack. 7 Electric water heaters with a power exceeding 5 KW that are not equipped with a plug shall be connected to the air switch and shall not be directly connected to the circuit.
3, anti-frost crack
When the outdoor temperature is lower than 0°C, insulation and antifreeze measures must be taken to the inlet and outlet pipes to prevent the electric water heater from being damaged due to freezing, and to avoid damage to the electric water heater due to the low water temperature caused by the long pipelines!
Regarding the safety of electric water heaters , I will introduce them to you . I hope to help you , and I would like to look forward to seeing more information on this site.
